Lions Thursday injury report: Kenny Golladay on track to miss 7th straight game

Will we see the star Lions receiver ever play for Detroit again?

There are only three games remaining on the Detroit Lions’ 2020 schedule, which means we’re getting close to the end of opportunities to see Kenny Golladay in a Honolulu Blue uniform again.

The Lions star receiver has been out of the lineup since Week 8’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, and it looks like he’s headed towards missing his seventh-straight game this week against the Tennessee Titans. Golladay was among six Lions who did not practice on Thursday. He hasn’t practiced since November 18, when he was listed as a limited participant. That’s the only time Golladay has practice since his injury, although he was estimated as a limited participant once during Thanksgiving’s shortened week.

Clearly at some point Golladay suffered a setback, otherwise the Lions would’ve put him on injured reserve for at least three weeks to save a roster spot and let him heal up. However, interim head coach Darrell Bevell said a couple weeks ago that “setback” isn’t the word he’d use.

“We push him to a certain level, next day, see how that level – (how) the body reacts to it, and then we come back the next day and go from that plan, that day forward,” Bevell said. “There’s always – I don’t know if you want to say ‘setbacks,’ I wouldn’t use that word. I would just say that you have to see how the body reacts the next day.”

This week, Bevell did not have a significant update on Golladay, only saying “he’s still continuing to rehab.”

With Golladay’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, it’s certainly possible that we may have seen the Lions of him in a Lions uniform.

The rest of Detroit’s injury report remained relatively the same. Jason Cabinda returned to practice from an illness, while Adrian Peterson and Tracy Walker were upgraded to full participants.

Here’s Thursday’s complete injury report:

OT Tyrell Crosby (ankle) - No practice
