Matthew Stafford is a boss.
Despite suffering a painful rib cartilage injury last week, the Detroit Lions quarterback is officially ACTIVE for Week 15 and is expected to start against the Tennessee Titans. That’s a huge turnaround from earlier in the week, in which Stafford not only did not practice, but appeared to still be in a bunch of pain midway through the week.
However, Stafford apparently tested out the injury during Friday’s practice, and it’s been full-speed ahead since.
That all being said, it’s not all good news for Detroit. Stafford will be missing his starting center in Frank Ragnow, as he deals with a fractured throat. He’ll also be missing his top wide receiver Kenny Golladay, who will miss his seventh-straight game with a hip injury.
Detroit will also be missing some key players on defense, including cornerback Darryl Roberts, who is inactive Sunday. That may not seem like a lot, but look at all the players currently on injured or COVID reserve: Da’Shawn Hand, Trey Flowers, Danny Shelton, Everson Griffen, Desmond Trufant, Julian Okwara and Jeff Okudah.
Here’s a lit of the Lions’ full inactives for Week 15:
OT Tyrell Crosby
WR Kenny Golladay
CB Darryl Roberts
RB Jonathan Williams
OL Logan Stenberg
C Frank Ragnow
DE Kareem Martin
And here’s the Titans’ inactive list:
S Kenny Vaccaro
CB Kristian Fulton
LB Brooks Reed
RB D’Onta Foreman
C Daniel Munyer
TE Geoff Swaim
DL Larrell Murchison
