Detroit Lions Week 16 inactives: Frank Ragnow OUT, Taylor Decker IN vs. Bucs

The Lions’ offensive line will be missing their Pro Bowl player again.

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Detroit Lions Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions will be without their Pro Bowl center for the second-straight week.

Frank Ragnow fractured his throat a couple weeks ago, and is officially inactive for Saturday’s contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ragnow returned to practice late in the week, but it appears doctors are still recommending he take more time off to protect his voice and vocal cords.

The Lions will have the services of left tackle Taylor Decker available in Week 16. Decker is dealing with a groin injury, but he is active and expected to start on Saturday. With right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai also making it through concussion protocol, the Lions will have their ideal lineup on the edges of the offensive line, but they’ll like have to deal with Jonah Jackson, Joe Dahl and Oday Aboushi as their interior offensive line.

The news isn’t great for the Lions’ defense, either. Jamie Collins Sr. will not play Saturday as he continues to deal with a neck injury. Collins is easily the best linebacker on an already-struggling unit, and the Bucs have an offense that could certainly take advantage of his absence. One of Detroit’s better defenders in the secondary, Jayron Kearse, is also out this week.

Here are the full Week 16 inactives:

S Jayron Kearse
LB Jamie Collins Sr.
