With nearly half of the coaching staff under COVID protocol and Matthew Stafford suffering an early injury against the Bucs, things got ugly real quick. Even uglier than anyone could have expected. I’ll be honest, even I tuned out pretty quickly and enjoyed my Sunday afternoon away from the television.
The Lions have one game remaining on their schedule with not much to play for, and if they know what’s good for them, they should probably just sit most of their starters and tank for a better pick anyway—but we all know that isn’t going to happen.
As we prepare for the end of the season, I want to know how checked out y’all actually are. Maybe some of you have already moved onto the offseason already while others will cling to this last final game because it’s going to be a while before we see our boys on the field again.
Today’s Question of the Day is...
Are you planning on watching the last Lions game of the season?
My answer: I can’t guarantee that I’ll watch the full game, but I’ll probably tune into the beginning no matter what. I can’t help but remember how depressing things were at the start of the pandemic with no sports and nothing to do. Even though this team has been a complete disaster, I’m still going to miss Lions football when it’s gone.
Once Captain Kirk and the rest of the Minnesota offense starts to replicate Tampa Bay’s first half performance against our defense, that’s probably when I’ll start to check out. We are witnessing arguably the worst defense this team has ever put out on the field and that is saying a lot. We’ve now given up 40+ points five times this season. Poor Matthew Stafford.
