The Lions suck, and I mean they suck. This defense is about to be worse than the 2008 defense—you remember, the one the team that went 2-14 the next season, and 6-10 the season after that? Yeah, that one. So, in short, next season ain’t likely to be pretty.
Question of the day: Can you handle another rebuild?
My answer: I tell myself I can’t, and the long haul seems, well, long, but we all know we’ll be here in due time.
This defense is abysmal and the next coach will be starting from scratch. But what we’ll do as Lions fans—what we always do as Lions fans—is cling to hope. We’ll see the first-round pick shine. Before we know it, three rookies are starting. The Lions are 4-5, but you’re clinging to hope in spite of their brutal schedule. Even as they finish 7-9, you know that they’re on the right track and the Lions made the right hire.
You’ll be here. We’ll all be here. We’ll get through this rebuild the same way we do all of our misery as Lions fans: together.
