The Detroit Lions haven’t beaten the Chicago Bears in three years, which—wouldn’t you know it—happens to coincide with Matt Patricia’s tenure with the franchise. He went 0-5 against the Bears during his time as Lions head coach, and that was coming off the heals of an era in which we truly owned the Bears. Prior to Patricia’s hiring, the Lions had won nine of the previous 10 contests vs. Chicago.
Well, Patricia is gone and now it will be on interim head coach Darrell Bevell to recapture some of that Lions vs. Bears magic. He’ll have to do so without some of his biggest weapons, as both Kenny Golladay and D’Andre Swift are inactive this week. However, some are expecting a “Bevell Bump” simply due to a change in direction and mindset from the team.
Of course, that all remains theoretical. The Lions are still lacking in talent, the Bears are much healthier and sport a very talented defense. Not to mention Mitchell Trubisky some has the Lions’ number—and ONLY the Lions’ number.
Either way, come join us for the first half of football as we see if the Lions can turn things around in December.
