Monday Night Football doubleheader open thread: Football Team-Steelers, Bills-49ers

Start neglecting the family even earlier than a normal Monday!

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

For some, it’s hard to keep track of what day it is living in a pandemic. The NFL isn't doing us any favors in that regard either. Games on Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon? Only in 2020. It makes a 5 p.m. ET Monday Night Football game seem commonplace. We have a couple of games on the slate today that both offer intrigue.

First up, we have the unnamed Washington Football Team (4-7) taking on the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers (11-0). Thanks to the wild scheduling due to COVID-19 (specifically, the Baltimore Ravens experiencing an outbreak of the virus ), we saw Pittsburgh take on Baltimore in the aforementioned Wednesday Afternoon Football bout last week. The NFL wisely decided to give both teams an extra day or two for their games, so now we have two Monday matchups. This would appear to be an easy victory for the Steelers but the Football Team are only a half game out of first place in the NFC East, so they won’t be lying down by any means.

The last matchup features the high-powered offense of the Buffalo Bills (8-3) taking on the stingy defense of the San Francisco 49ers (5-6). The Bills are leading the AFC East and hoping to keep it that way while the 49ers are in the hunt for a wild card spot in the NFC. For those of you holding on to the slither of hope that the Lions make the playoffs, join the Bills Mafia for an evening and root for them to win as it helps the Lions playoff chances quite a bit. One benefit for those rooting for Buffalo is the 49ers not having their traditional home field advantage. Due to COVID restrictions in California, the 49ers have temporarily moved to Glendale, Arizona and will be playing in the Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium.

If you can keep track of all of the games, days and times... kudos to you. But if you’re like the rest of us, check out the kickoff times and ways you can watch the games below.
