VIDEO: Watch reinvigorated Detroit Lions team mic’d up vs. Bears

If you were watching Sunday’s FOX broadcast of the game between the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears, you probably heard Chris Spielman say once or twice or 30 times that this Lions team looks more excited, energized and happy on the sidelines. Matthew Stafford was even smiling when he came out of the tunnel!

Though we got clips of it here and there during the broadcast, we mostly had to just take Spielman’s word for it. That is, until now.

The Lions dropped their weekly “Sights and Sounds” video, which features unique camera angles, on-field audio, and the great Lions play-by-play announcer Dan Miller and his live calls of the game.

Given the unique nature of this win—it being Darrell Bevell’s first game as interim head coach, plus the late-game theatrics from the Lions—you aren’t going to want to miss this one. Though this week’s mic’d up candidate was a bit of an odd choice (Mohamed Sanu), the video captures all sorts of amazing moments.

First, let’s start with Sanu, because he actually turns out to be a pretty great mic’d up choice. Here’s a brief transcription of one of his better moments in this game.

“(to Adrian Peterson) BIG DOG, NO LITTLE DOG HERE. BIG DOG, NO LITTLE DOG HERE. BIG DOG, NO LITTLE DOG HERE. DOG, NO LITTLE DOG HERE.”

Then there were just awesome moments to see from the sideline view. Everson Griffen and Romeo Okwara sprinting to the sidelines with glee after the strip sack. Amani Oruwariye doing the dice throw motion as the chains clearly showed the Bears were short on fourth-and-1.

But no moment was better than after the game was over. As Bevell was doing his post-game handshake rounds, Matthew Stafford stopped him for a moment and threw him a side-armed game ball.
