Super Bowl LIV expert picks, predictions: 49ers vs. Chiefs

Our staff makes their picks for The Big Game.

NFL: JAN 29 Super Bowl LIV - Commissioners Press Conference

We’ve already discussed which teams we’d like to win Super Bowl LIV. Based on your votes, around 62 percent of Detroit Lions fans will be pulling for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening. That likely speaks to the popularity of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ high-flying offense that is often a pleasure to watch.

But Lions fans know all too well that the team you root for is not always the team that ends up winning.

So for a day, I asked the Pride of Detroit staff to put their hearts aside and start thinking with their heads. Let us not talk about who we want to win, but who we think will win.

There is no clear answer, as evidenced by the Vegas odds for this game, which have the Chiefs as a 1.5-point favorite on Sunday. But as you can tell from the picks of our staff, there is a clear lean towards the Chiefs.

Here’s a look at our picks and predictions for Super Bowl LIV:

Jeremy Reisman: 27-21 49ers
Mansur Shaheen: 35-23 Chiefs
Alex Reno: 30-27 49ers
Mike Payton: 42-35 Chiefs
Jerry Mallory: 24-20 Chiefs
John Whiticar: 34-30 Chiefs
Justin Simon: 31-28 Chiefs

Now let’s hear what y’all have to say. Give us your winner in the poll below and your score predictions in the comment section.
