The Lions roster has seen significant turnover this week with the start of the free agency tampering period. Yesterday, I asked you which new signing you were most excited about. Today, with so many major pieces of the Lions’ 2019 roster gone, we ask who you’ll miss the most.
Question of the day: Which former Lion will you miss the most.
My answer: Devon Kennard.
It’s got to be him, simply based on his character and what he brought to the locker room and the community. Kennard was the Lions’ Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee in 2019 and gave a classy farewell upon his release Tuesday.
My goal in life is to always leave a place better then I found it. I believe I did that in Detroit with the @detroitlionsnfl . Thank you to my teammates, coaches, the support staff and fans that made my experience in Detroit one that I will cherish forever. pic.twitter.com/79XSgk16eE

I have to give honorable mention to a few players, starting with Jeff Driskel, who agreed to a deal with the Broncos on Tuesday. While he could never replace Matthew Stafford, he exceeded what low expectations we had of him and kept things fun for a little while.
Likewise, I can’t go without mentioning punter Sam Martin, who has been a pivotal part of the Lions’ special teams units for most of the decade. He’s not gone for certain—he remains unsigned as of writing this—but all signs point to the Lions turning to younger talent at the position. While he was never the same punter following his injury a few years back, we take for granted his impeccable work on holds and kickoffs.
