It looks like Darius Slay’s hours on the Detroit Lions are numbered. After rumors blew up on Wednesday night following Detroit’s reported agreement with former Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant, ESPN’s Josina Anderson dropped this bomb in the middle of the night.
Per Anderson, the Lions and Eagles are having “ongoing discussion” on a trade and a three-year extension that would land Slay in Philadelphia. At the moment, there is no agreement in place, and there are no details on what the compensation would be or what an extension would look like, but one thing is clear: this thing is moving, and it’s moving fast.
That should make Slay happy, as he quickly reacted to the Trufant news Wednesday night by tweeting out, “Congrats to my guy!!!! Hope that speeds up my trade process.”
