The Detroit Lions continue to make minor signings in the second wave of free agency. Per Justin Rogers of the Detroit News, the latest to agree to terms with Detroit is former Chargers wide receiver Geremy Davis, who has agreed to a one-year deal.

Davis has mostly been a special teams player since being taken in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. As a receiver, just has five catches for 59 yards in his career. However, he has been an integral part of the Chargers’ kick and punt coverage units over the past few seasons.

In 2018, Davis logged 13 special teams tackles in 14 games. Last year, unfortunately, Davis’ season was cut short due to a hamstring injury. He played in just seven games and picked up five total tackles.

Davis is the third straight addition from the Lions that is mainly focused on special teams. Earlier, the Lions signed safety Jayron Kearse and cornerback Tony McRae. In an effort to improve their special teams unit, the Lions also hired a new coordinator, Braydon Coombs, back in January.

Anyways, here are the special teams highlights I know you’ve been looking for.
