The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl Champions for the for the first time in 50 years, and for their fans, it was well worth the wait. Patrick Mahomes is the star of the league, and Andy Reid finally has the postseason monkey off his back.

But now isn’t the time for the Chiefs to sit back and relax. Soon Mahomes will be off of his rookie contract and that’s when the challenge begins for the franchise. Pride of Detroit commenter JJ2672 is acting general manager for the Chiefs in our Pride of Detroit Community Mock, and it will be up to them to keep the Chiefs atop the league by nailing his first-round pick.

With the final pick in the first round of the POD Community Mock, the Chiefs select Clemson cornerback A.J. Terrell.

Take it away, JJ2672:

“Queen sang it the best.

We are the champions, my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting ‘til the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions of the world

Oh man. It feels so good to say that. We are the champions of the world. Go suck killbuck eggs, 49ers!! The rest of you can go eat your fill of dill weed. I’ve been sitting on top of the world sipping on my dirty martini basking in the glory of a Super Bowl win. Wait, did I just say basking, oh dang you to heck Carol Baskins, you just ruined a good word for me.

Oh, but it’s back to work already as I have to pick the next great first-round Chief like Tony Gonzales, Dontari Poe, Patrick Mahomes, Eric Barry, and especially Marcus Peters.

A.J. Terrell from Clemson is going to be our next big shutdown corner. The dude has a RAS score of 8.72 that highlights a 4.42 40-yard dash time and a 6-foot-1’ frame. The Draft Network says this about Terrell, “Terrific athlete with excellent pattern-matching skills, quick feet, clean transitions and fluid hips. Outstanding in click and close situations, driving forward on the football and being disruptive.” And, NFL.com says, “The size and ability to hound 50/50 balls deserve recognition.” Ah hell ya. Let’s hear it for the boy!

You all know we lost a starting cornerback in Kendall Fuller. We did have two starting cornerbacks positions open, but an Easter miracle happened and Bashaud Breeland agreed to terms. But, replacing Fuller and making our defensive backs a strong unit again is still priority number one.

Our other needs are inside offensive line and inside linebacker. Therefore, we had the choice of picking the mauling Inside offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz or linebacker Zach Baum. Baum does not project to be an inside linebacker so that choice was made easy like picking a fresh kosher pickle over a generic, flaccid limp pickle. I was very tempted in picking Cesar Ruiz. I figured we can scheme around an inferior lineman but a poor cornerback on either side is going to sink you faster than softball size hole in the hull of your favorite skimmer boat.

So A.J Terrell is the next All-Pro first-round pick for the Chiefs, and you all can join in with me as I lead you all in the Tomahawk Chop chant

Oh, oh, oh-oh-oh. Oh screw it, that’s too hard to write out. Join me with the classic:

We are the champions, my friends
And we’ll keep on fighting ‘til the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
‘Cause we are the champions.... of the world
