We’re now officially three weeks out from the 2020 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions, like most of us, are scrambling to figure out how to work from home heading into one of the most important events of the NFL offseason.
This is around the same time that the organization is wrapping up their pre-draft rankings and rounding out their team needs.
Even after free agency, one of those top needs is a defensive lineman.
The draft has a few excellent players at the top. Both Chase Young and Derrick Brown are going to be considered at the third pick, but there is also some solid depth along the defensive line group as well.
Guys like Javon Kinlaw and A.J. Epenesa will available later in Round one if they trade back or maybe even in Round two, but it’s hard to see one specific player could end up on the Lions.
So today’s Question of the Day is:
Which 2020 NFL Draft defensive lineman will end up on the Lions?
My answer: A.J. Epenesa
I would love to see Chase Young go to the Lions. That is a run-around-the-house-screaming scenario on draft night.
But the reality of that actually happening seems pretty slim to me despite rumors about QB being taken at number two.
And that leads me to Epenesa. He just looks like a Lions prospect. He’s not the athletic freak of a guy like Young, but he is just solid all around. He definitely could go late in round one, but it wouldn’t shock me to see him get snagged by the Lions early on day two of the draft.
Your turn.
