The hours before the NFL Draft proved to be much more wild than the event itself. In the end, the Detroit Lions did what just about everyone expected them to do by taking Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah.

So after all was said and done, the PODcast crew gathered beyond 2 in the morning to discuss all of Thursday night’s events, our thoughts on Okudah, and what’s coming next for Detroit in the rounds that follow.

We’ve been talking about Okudah for months, but now that he’s actually a Detroit Lion, how does he fit on the team? Can he make a Year 1 impact, or is he due to progress slowly like many young cornerbacks in this league? And why did the Lions and general manager Bob Quinn struggle to find a trade down partner? Is it fair to put any blame on Quinn himself?

Then we move to the rest of the first round, where we finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel in the Aaron Rodgers era. We break down our initial thoughts of the Jordan Love shocker in Green Bay.

Finally, we talk about Day 2 of the draft, and all of the different directions the Lions could go with their next three picks. Jeremy lists several names Detroit could be targeting at offensive line, defensive line, running back, and wide receiver.
