The Detroit Lions have selected Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Lions don’t currently have a receiver on the roster signed beyond the 2020 season, but with Marvin Jones Jr., Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola on board for this year, Cephus isn’t likely to contribute much his rookie season.
But new Detroit Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah was a big fan of Cephus in college:
Jeff Okudah: "Quintez Cephus from Wisconsin, I think he's the best receiver I went against. It doesn't matter what his 40 time was. Football is played in between the lines and he's a technician, someone that I changed my plan up for every single week."

Cephus is a jump-ball specialist, even at just 6-foot-1. Athletically, speaking, however, he’s just an average prospect.
With pick 166 in the 2020 NFL Draft, the #Lions selected Quintez Cephus, WR, Wisconsin.

He posted an okay #RAS with good size, very poor speed, great explosiveness, poor agility at the WR position.https://t.co/e0h7qZEdZ4#OnePride pic.twitter.com/BMIDX3Rv3o
Cephus was also expelled from Wisconsin following a sexual assault charge in 2018. However, he was acquitted and reinstated the following year.

2017: 30 catches, 501 yards, 6 TDs
