Kelly Stafford explains selling house: We don’t want to live by water with children

The speculation lasted less than a few hours.

Matthew Stafford’s Michigan home went up for sale on Thursday afternoon, and when it hit the media, the speculation about Stafford’s future ran rampant for all of a couple hours. Tom Brady sold his house in Boston last year, too! OMG!

But soon after the news hit, Kelly Stafford posted an Instagram story explaining their actions.

“No speculation is needed. We’re about to have our fourth child, and I, personally, do not want to live on a lake or have a pool with four children under the age of a little over three.

So that is the reason that it’s on the market. It makes us super sad. That house has been incredible. We’ll never own a house like it. So it is a super sad thing, but it just makes us feel better knowing that there’s no real dangers of having tiny ones running around all the bodies of water. So, that is the reason.”

UPDATE: Per Stafford’s real estate agent, the family is still actively looking for homes in Michigan.
