Are you missing the movie theaters these days? Date night with the significant other not the same under lockdown?
We here at Pride of Detroit are feeling the same hurt. Going out to the movies with a set of friends is something we all likely took for granted even just months ago, but we’re going to try like hell to recreate it in this virtual age.
Thankfully, our Twitch page has provided us the perfect platform for something like this. So tonight—Friday, May 8 at 7 p.m. ET—we are introducing Pride of Detroit Movie Night! Simply by visiting our Twitch page at that time, you’ll be able to watch a movie at the exact same time as us, chatting with fellow Lions fans as we provide (limited) live commentary.
And for the first POD Movie Night, we are kicking things off with something near and dear to Detroit Lions fans’ heart. A fan-made documentary entitled “Heart of a Lions fan.” Here’s the description from Amazon Prime’s listing of the movie:
“The last time the Detroit Lions won a playoff game was 1991. The last time they won a championship, it was 1957. This film documents one fan’s journey to determine if it is right for him to raise his son as a Lions fan.”
Not only will we be screening this movie for you to watch live for us, but we will also have a live Q&A with director Michael Vanderpool before and after we watch the movie. Here’s a little taste of the movie:
