The running game had a bit of a resurgence in the NFL last year. The Tennessee Titans proved that, on the shoulders of Derrick Henry, they could challenge the best of the best in the league. Though they stopped just short of a Super Bowl appearance, they gave the eventual champions a run for their money—as did the run-heavy San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.
And while running backs are still struggling to get paid in this league—see Dalvin Cook for the latest example—they are making the case that maybe they are a little more valuable than they’ve been perceived over the past few years.
So this week on the PODcast, we ranked the top 10 running backs in the NFL right now. Our list was created by averaging eight staff members’ lists. Staffers were asked to vote based on pure talent alone for this year. Contracts, longevity, offensive line and coaching was not factored into these rankings at all.
Before we got to the LISCAST, however, we took some time to chat about the Black Lives Matter protests and how they’ve impacted the Detroit Lions and the NFL. Have we seen legitimate progress since the 2016-17 protests during the national anthem or is it all talk?
That and more on this week’s PODcast. Check it out:
