First impressions are everything... well, sometimes, at least.
The Detroit Lions took the field for Monday morning and strapped the pads on the for the first time. The team, following NFL protocol in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, only allowed a select few media members on hand at their Allen Park facility. While we weren’t lucky enough to be part of that initial group (we’ll be there Tuesday), we were able to get someone who was.
Monday evening ESPN’s Michael Rothstein joined our PODcast to break down all the happenings from Day 1 of training camp. Which players impressed? Who still needs work to do? And, most importantly, HOW ABOUT THOSE ROOKIES????
Rothstein breaks down everything he saw in Detroit’s initial 80-minute practice, then shoots down some way-too-early narratives that are already starting to emerge. PLUS, we get a story about the time in his life when he was a bouncer. Yes, a bouncer.
Oh yeah, plus our good friend Chris Perfett makes his triumphant return!
Want a full breakdown of what happened with the Lions’ first padded practice of the year from someone who was actually on the grounds? This is the PODcast for you!
