I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little worried about Kerryon Johnson.

Since being drafted in 2018 he’s only played in 14 games. He has shown flashes during his first two years, but injuries are starting to stack up. And it appears he’s still healing from last year’s injury. Reports out of training camp are that the Lions are still limiting him — giving him scheduled “maintenance“ days. And he’s still wearing a big brace on his knee.

That’s not a good sign for a guy who’s fighting for playing time with a new, highly-drafted running back in D’Andre Swift.

That leaves a huge hole to fill throughout training camp, and that brings us to today’s question:

Who will be the Lions top running back in 2020?

My Answer: D’Andre Swift.

Some of it is early training camp hype, but most of it is reality. The Lions drafted Swift high in this year’s draft because they think he can contribute.

I’m also down on Kerryon Johnson staying healthy. Johnson has an injury history dating back to college, and he’s struggled to stay on the field when the Lions need him. At this point, he may be more of a luxury at the position.

Your turn.
