Week 1 proved quite difficult to predict for the Pride of Detroit staff. While Alex Reno, Andrew Kato, and Justin Simon managed to pull in respectable 11-5 records for the opening week of action, the rest of us were much closer to a flip of the coin.

Now as we enter Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season, we must avoid the all-too-common mistake of overreacting to the opening week of games. The Buccaneers are probably going to be okay despite their loss to the Saints last Sunday. Mitchell Trubisky isn’t finally a great quarterback just because of one good quarter against a depleted Lions secondary. And the New England Patriots aren’t... well, let’s not kid ourselves. They’re going to be good again, because that’s just how the NFL works.

This week, there are plenty of intriguing matchups—not including Thursday night’s matchup between the Browns and Bengals. But what else would you expect from “Thursday Night Football?”

Can the Eagles bounce back against a Rams team that is looking to make noise in a competitive NFC West? Can the Patriots pull off a last-second victory over the Seahawks without the greatest fourth-quarter defensive coordinator of all time? And is there any hope for the Lions against a red-hot Packers offense?
