Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay will miss his second straight game, as the team listed the Pro Bowler as OUT in their final injury report of the week. Joining him this week is cornerback Desmond Trufant, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Bears, and Joe Dahl, who suffered a groin injury during this week of practices.
That makes three starters that will miss this Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers—and potentially more. Backup cornerback Darryl Roberts has a calf injury and is listed as questionable.
The good news, however, is that third overall pick Jeff Okudah is slated to make his first career NFL start. The rookie cornerback practiced in full again on Friday and was not given an injury designation. Depending on Roberts’ availability, Okudah is expected to start alongside Amani Oruwariye. With nickel cornerback Justin Coleman on IR, either Roberts or Tony McRae would play in the slot.
The Lions will also have a challenge on the offensive line. With right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai listed as questionable for Sunday (he did not practice again Friday), backup Tyrell Crosby is set to make his second consecutive start. It’s unclear who will replace Joe Dahl at left guard, but veteran Oday Aboushi is the most likely candidate or rookie Logan Stenberg. The Lions could also bring up Kenny Wiggins from the practice squad, like they did last week.
And while Hunter Bryant is listed as out for Sunday, it is notable that he returned to practice in a limited fashion for the first time since his hamstring injury early in training camp.
