Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay appears to be on track to play in his first game of 2020. Golladay was listed as questionable on the final injury report of Week 3, but he practiced in a limited fashion for all three days this week after missing the past three weeks of practice. Golladay suffered a hamstring sometime during the first week of practices, and after being extra careful with it, he appears ready to return to action.
“Definitely, definitely feeling a lot better,” Golladay said on Friday. “Wouldn’t say it’s 100 percent. I really wouldn’t even put a percentage on it, I just know I’m not 100 percent. Like I said, I’m going to do everything I can. Hopefully, I’ll show enough that I can be out there.”
The Lions may have to wait another week to get another key piece of the defense back, as cornerback Desmond Trufant is doubtful for Sunday. Trufant suffered a hamstring injury late in Week 1 and hadn’t practiced until Thursday. Detroit could use all hands on deck with Cardinals receivers DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, and Andy Isabella all set to play this week. If he can’t go, Jeff Okudah will likely get his second career start after some serious struggles in his rookie debut against the Packers.
Starting right tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai may play for the first time, too, as he’s listed as questionable. While defensive tackle Nick Williams should play, as his injury designation has been removed following a full practice on Friday.
Because the Lions are traveling to Arizona this week, we may get a better sense of who will be playing on Saturday. If a player doesn’t travel with the team, they will be downgraded to out.
