When the Lions lost Calvin Johnson I thought it would be a long time before they found anything close to his production. And while Kenny Golladay isn’t quite at Megatron level, he’s definitely making a name for himself across the NFL.
Rumors out there say Golladay is next in line for a big extension with the Detroit Lions. And most folks are projecting his deal to end up somewhere in the $18 million a year area.
That would put Golladay around the top five in the NFL in terms of average salary — along with guys like Odell Beckham, Jr., Tyreek Hill, and A.J. Green.
That brings us to today’s question of the day:
Is Kenny Golladay a top five receiver in the NFL?
My answer: Yes.
Last season Golladay was seventh in receiving yards, second in receptions over 20 yards, and first in touchdowns.
All while playing with three different quarterbacks.
There are close to 10 players that could be a top five receiver any given year. If Matthew Stafford his healthy for 16 games, Golladay will make his case in 2020.
Your turn.
