On this week's episode of the Man Coverage Podcast we talked to Dave Birkett, the Detroit Free Press’ beat writer for the Detroit Lions. He spoke about his early days in Madison Heights, his game on the basketball court, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with John L. Smith and some of his favorite stories from covering the Lions.

Dave also talks about the Lions’ first win, having patience with Jeff Okudah and other rookies and whether or not the Lions can beat the Saints on Sunday. He also gives his thoughts on if the Lions can turn the season around.

In the lightning round we go at it on quarterback wins, find out what sport Dave would play if he could be a pro athlete, what team would draft him. We also asked Dave, a Hall of Fame voter, if he thinks Matthew Stafford will ever get a bronze bust of his face in Canton.
