The Detroit Lions roster is now down to 77 players. According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the team is waiving undrafted rookie safety Bobby Price.
Price was added to the Lions’ squad shortly after the 2020 NFL Draft. A product of FCS football program Norfolk State, Price is an intriguing players simply because of his elite physical traits. But with no preseason to display those skills and a high learning curve going from Norfolk State to the NFL, Price faced enormous odds to make the final 53-man squad.
Like every player cut on Saturday, Price is eligible for the practice squad. And if he showed enough promise in training camp, he’s a great candidate to land there and learn for a season or two before developing into a NFL-ready player.
