The Detroit Lions’ 53-man roster is far from finished, but the team’s decisions on Saturday give us a good idea of what their plans are for the 2020 season. There were plenty of surprises, both in terms of players that were cut and those that stuck around.
But where do these cuts leave the Detroit Lions? Where is their roster strong? Where does it need work? What kind of players are the Lions valuing and which are due for bigger roles than we expected?
We tried to answer these questions during our LIVE PODcast on Saturday night. Myself and John Whiticar went position-by-position to talk about the players that are left and why the Lions may have cut the players they did. We also discussed which players are likely headed for the expanded practice squad and even touch on who the Lions may put in a claim for—like Josh Rosen?
