According to both Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the Detroit Lions have their next general manager. The Lions have agreed to a five-year deal with former Los Angeles Rams’ director of college scouting Brad Holmes.
Holmes was given a second, in-person interview with the Lions on Wednesday, and apparently it went well enough for the Lions to close out the deal.
Holmes has spent his entire NFL career under the Rams organization, growing from an employee in public relations to spending over a decade as one of the team’s area scouts. Eventually he was named the director of college scouting for the Rams in 2013—a position he has held until present day.
The Rams will reportedly receive two third-round compensatory picks as part of the league’s new minority hiring initiative.
