The Detroit Lions’ search for the next general manager has concluded. According to several reports now, Rams director of college scouting Brad Holmes will be the next general manager of the Detroit Lions.
Though not much is known about Holmes publicly, he had grown to be one of the more trusted minds within the Rams organization during his 18-year span there. He truly built his way up, starting as an employee in public relations before putting in decades of work as a scout.
Holmes was not really on fans’ radar prior to the beginning of the search, but that could perhaps speak to Detroit’s thoroughness in this process. He was rumored to be a candidate very early on in the proces, and must have knocked his interviews out of the park. His first interview came just over a week ago (January 6), and he was hired eight days later.
So what do you think of the hire? Was it a good move? Too risky? Not enough experience?
