Whole years of history can happen in weeks, and for the Detroit Lions it definitely feels that way right now. In just minutes after the news of Anthony Lynn’s decision to join the Detroit coaching staff, news then broke of Matthew Stafford wanting out to another team. It’s all very confusing, and that’s not the half of what went down over the weekend.
On the latest episode of our Pride Of Detroit PODcast, we try to wrap it all up, package it nicely, deliver bromides and opinions and analysis. We’ll discuss all the coaching hires, front office hires and so much more.
But the main course is Matthew Stafford. There’s plenty of places for him to go play, but only a few teams might be able to pay a respectable price. The sporting press is already alluding to the ransom paid for Jay Cutler in the past, so what would a Stafford trade net Detroit? We discuss the most likely spots and a few potential trade machine simulations.
After that, we’ll talk up Anthony Lynn, give props to Ryan Mathews for calling it on Aaron Glenn, and discuss all the other names you might have missed as the Lions work to solidify their staff to address the team’s needs in the draft and free agency.
