Former Lions RB coach Kyle Caskey holding charity drive for Detroit youth

Before they depart from the Lions organization, the Caskey family wants to give back to the local community.

With the expected hire of Duce Staley as the Detroit Lions’ next running backs coach/assistant head coach, that means that Kyle Caskey, the team’s running backs coach in 2020, is not being retained.

Though his time as a Detroit Lions coach is coming to an end, Caskey is continuing to support the Detroit area through his Caskey Family Foundation charity. Caskey told Pride of Detroit this week that his foundation is prepared to use all the remaining donations towards the youth in Detroit over the next week or two.

The Caskey Family Foundation was established in 2020 and has already accomplished a couple of big goals. Back in the summer, the charity raised enough money to purchase 41 brand new Microsoft Surfaces for the Detroit Lions Academy to help with virtual learning and after school programs to the school for underprivileged children.

Later in the year, they teamed with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan to drop off winter clothing for those in need.

As someone who got to know both Kyle and his wife Kayla, I can tell you that they truly cared about the local community, even if their time here only spanned a couple years.

If you’d like to fund their charity and help out the local youth in Detroit, you can donate to the Caskey Family Foundation here.
