What up doe? My name is Morgan, and I am the new Analysis Writer here at Pride of Detroit.
I am going on 31 years young (born on the elite day of October 10) and have been a Detroit Lions fan for every one of those years. I was part of a military family growing up, so we moved quite a bit before eventually settling down in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Some of my earliest memories are of us all watching the Lions and taking the long drive up to Michigan to see family and catch a game. Naturally, when I got out of the military in 2016, there was only one place for me to go, and that was home. I now live on the east side of Detroit with my partner, Holland, and our four(!) pets (a German Shepherd, Beagle mix, and two amazing rescue cats).
Besides the Lions and the other Detroit teams, I love anything with animals, the outdoors, Lord of the Rings, comic books, video games, food, and (good) hip hop. I volunteer with Rebel Dogs Detroit and Detroit Community Cat Rescue (check them both out on Instagram!) and if I’m not working, I am most likely just kicking it at the house with the fur children.
I am elated to be able to join the team here at Pride of Detroit and to learn from such an amazing group of writers and creators. Through the years, all my favorite writers have had one thing in common, the ability to present and communicate information in an articulate and digestible manner. My goal at Pride of Detroit will be to do the same—to provide thoughtful and intelligent analysis of everything Lions football, from the front office to the trenches. You can find me on Twitter @MCannon313 where we can discuss zone blocking concepts or how Lord of the Rings is infinitely better than Star Wars. Can’t wait to get to know all of you throughout this journey.
Let’s go Lions.
