There have been plenty of exciting games thus far.

The Detroit Lions have had plenty of exciting games with impressive performances thus far in the season. Although they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel on some parts of the roster, others are chock full of young talent that gives hope for the future. Those reasons for hope have shined quite bright in some of the Lions’ close games this season.

Question of the day: Which loss has been Detroit’s most impressive this season?

My answer: The 19-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

There are lots of arguments to be made here — the loss to the 49ers showed the most ball movement from the offense; this past week against the Rams probably showed the most depth and variety from the playbook, and the Vikings game was a strong one for the defense. Nonetheless, the loss to Baltimore felt like the most complete “victory” from the team.

Sure, 17 points isn’t much, but the Baltimore defense is much more stout than others the Lions have since faced and underperformed against. Likewise, Marquise Brown certainly did the Lions some favors but the Lions defense played some really solid bend-but-don’t-break defense. All around, I think that was the most complete game from the team thus far.

Your turn. Which loss has been Detroit’s most impressive this season?
