The past few Thursday Night Football games haven’t had the most enticing teams on the docket, but tonight’s affair should change that. There’s no better way to kick off the return to Twitch streams by watching the Rams face the Seahawks.
The Matthew Stafford era of Rams football hit its first speed bump, as the they fell flat against the unbeaten Cardinals. Stafford can’t seem to shake the narrative that he can’t win against good teams, so a win tonight would be excellent to put that to bed. More of the blame should be placed on the defense, a unit that is showing cracks following the departure of defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.
The hot-cold nature of the Seahawks continues to make them a difficult team to predict. On one hand, the likes of Russell Wilson, D.K. Metcalf, and Tyler Lockett are nightmares for defensive coordinators. On the other, the team flatlined against the Vikings in Week 3 and faltered to the Titans the week before. The struggles of Chris Carson could be a factor, and his neck injury only further hinders that offense. Much like the Rams, the defense is truly preventing this team from being elite.
