Free agency looms large, and no decision for the Detroit Lions weighs as heavy as the question of wide receiver Kenny Golladay.
The star receiver had two impressive seasons and many more impressive catches, but his time was marred with injuries, and little was seen of him in the 2020 campaign. Golladay is among five (!) wide receivers from the Lions who enter March as unrestricted free agents.
The specter of the franchise tag was raised in regards to Golladay, but using such a thing would bring its own repercussions. Moreover, with the money owed in such a tag, would the action even be in line with what the Lions hope to accomplish this offseason in regards to their salary cap?
We discuss all these matters on the latest PODcast. It’s the big wide receiver episode, and while a good deal of time is devoted to Golladay’s impending free agency, we also take a look at the other four receivers up for the Lions, plus names we like that might be on the open market (with a note for fans to temper their expectations on big names), plus a quick look and who the Lions could be taking if they decide that the NFL Draft is a better use of their time for the position.
