After a quiet start to free agency in which the Detroit Lions simply cleared cap space and moved on from ineffective players, at the strike of midnight on Tuesday, Detroit made a couple of aggressive moves that could pay dividends in 2021 and beyond.

First, the Lions grabbed Jamaal Williams in an effort to finally fix their running back depth issue they’ve been dealing with for several years now. The move had Packers fans devastated, but how do we think he’ll fit in Detroit? Myself, Ryan Mathews and Erik Schlitt broke down our thoughts of the move.

But the Lions weren’t done. Just a few minutes afterwards, news dropped that the Lions were also getting help on the other side of the ball after sending a 2023 seventh-round pick for veteran defensive tackle Michael Brockers. We discuss what we think his role will be in Detroit and how he could help form a defensive front that may actually be... good?

Of course, we also had to say goodbye to Matt Prater and Marvin Jones Jr., who were two of the most consistently good players in Detroit for the past five seasons. Then we end our mini-podcast with a discussion on how badly Kenny Golladay and his agent have messed things up.
