Free agency has come to a crawl as the top-tier players are mostly gone at this point in the process. There are still some big names on the board, and the Detroit Lions are most certainly not done adding players, but on Friday afternoon, suddenly the NFL Draft came into focus.
In the middle of Zach Wilson’s pro day, when he was dropping ridiculous throws like this, the San Francisco 49ers threw an entire wrench into the inner workings of the 2021 NFL Draft. First, the 49ers sent a Matthew Stafford’s-load of picks to the Miami Dolphins to jump from the 12th overall pick to three, in a move that was obviously meant to grab their new quarterback.
But the Dolphins weren’t done. Clearly looking to still grab a top-10 talent in this year’s draft, Miami took their 12th overall pick and turned it into the sixth pick by sending the Philadelphia Eagles a future first-round pick.
On Friday, we discussed how that trade impacts the Lions, but on Saturday morning we’ll dive a little deeper into it during our live Locker Room session.
If you haven’t been to our live Locker Room shows, it takes place completely on the Locker Room app, and myself, Ryan Mathews and Erik Schlitt field your questions live for an hour of Lions talk.
Here’s how it works:
- Download the Locker Room app on any apple device (sorry, just iOS for now).
- Create your account and add @PrideOfDetroit as a fan
- Fire up the app at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday and wait for our show to go live.
When the show is live, you can just sit and listen to the three of us talk. Or, if you want to get involved, you have two options. You can submit questions in our live chat room via texts, or you can put in a request to join the show and then we’ll bring you aboard to chat with the hosts.
It’s a completely unique way to connect with the Lions community. So come join us at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday or you can catch a replay of the session on our PODcast feed.
