Wednesday open thread: What’s your favorite part of the new regime so far?

It’s gotta be the sheer transparency for me.

Detroit Lions

The difference between the QuinnTricia regime and the Campbell/Holmes (Hompbell? Holbell? Let’s brainstorm.) regime has been night and day, and we haven’t even seen any football happen yet. Of course, the only change that ultimately matters is the number of wins come January, but we’ll get there when we get there.

Question of the day: What has been your favorite part of the new regime so far?

My answer: It’s the sheer transparency. Not only is this light years ahead of Matt Patricia’s tight-lippedness but it’s pretty transparent compared to coaches all across the league.

Take Tuesday’s presser, for example. Here are just a handful of examples of things most other coaches wouldn’t dare speak in advance:

  • Details of ownership’s role behind closed doors:
  • Giving us a timeline for something??? Matt Patricia could never:
  • Hinting at roster cuts? Yeah, Campbell does that too:

This level of transparency is such a pleasant change of pace, and it still catches me off guard. It’s definitely my favorite part of this new regime so far, but I would be remiss not to give honorable mention to Campbell always slipping in remarks about how devoid of talent this team is, particularly on defense. It’s refreshing to hear someone in charge actually acknowledge the fact that this roster is bad:

I know we haven’t seen a single down of football yet, but I’ll sure take this. What’s your favorite part of the new regime so far? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
