This week, we kicked of our 2021 NFL Draft preview series with the first of two draft experts. We got our old friend Brett Whitefield—formerly of PFF, now the director of football operations and analytics with FTN Network—to help break down the best prospects on the offensive side of the ball.

For about 45 minutes we discussed the Lions’ best options at the top of the draft, then worked our way down through Day 2 and Day 3 prospects that could attract the Lions at positions of need.

Some interesting topics from our discussion include: Why Brett believes Rashod Bateman is a better NFL prospect than DeVonta Smith, how close Rashawn Slater and Penei Sewell are as prospects, some Day 2 wide receiver prospects, and Brett gives us his ideal pairing of offensive prospects for Detroit’s first and second-round picks.
