If you’ve been reading Pride of Detroit long enough, you’re probably yearning for some draft content from our former writer Kent Lee Platte, also known as MathBomb. You may know Kent from his time here at the site. You may know him as the creator of the RAS (Relative Athletic Score) metric that has become essential to understanding the draft class. You may know him as one of the Lions Twitter’s most prolific voices. To me, Kent is a friend and a genius.
So on Wednesday night, I jumped on the opportunity to talk to him for over an hour about the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. Last week, we chatted with Brett Whitefield about the prospects on offense, so Ryan Mathews and I grilled Kent about the best and worst defensive prospects in this year’s draft. It was an extremely enlightening conversation that tackled just about every prospect you could imagine in this year’s draft.
Specific topics we covered includes:
- Is there a defensive prospect worth the seventh overall pick?
- Who could the Detroit Lions target in a trade-down scenario?
- Loaded linebacker class with tons of athleticism
- Which safety fits best for what the Lions are looking for?
- SLEEPERS
As always, you can catch the podcast on any of the major platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher or iHeartRadio.
But this week, I would highly suggest checking out the show on YouTube or Twitch. It is a clashing of mustaches unlike anything you’ve ever seen from a football podcast. You also get about 30 more minutes of content on the video podcast.
