2021 NFL Draft schedule: What time will the Detroit Lions make their selections?

A look at the time estimates for the Lions’ 6 draft picks.

NFL: NFL Draft-City Scenes Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Draft is a marathon, not a sprint. While the die-hards will make time out of their life to watch every second of the three-day event, some aren’t as lucky to have that kind of time on their hands, whether it’s work commitments, family life, or simply the inability to sit in front of a screen four three hours straight, then four hours straight, then eight hours straight.

Thankfully, here at Pride of Detroit, we welcome any and all kinds of Detroit Lions fans. Time is valuable, and no one should snub their nose at people who simply just want to watch the Lions make their pick then go on with the rest of their lives.

So to help accommodate those fans, I’ve laid out the approximate time the Lions will be making their six draft selections for the 2021 NFL Draft this weekend. These times are based on when these exact picks were made in last year’s draft, so there could obviously be some fluctuation with these numbers depending on how slow or fast things go this year.

Also, there’s always the possibility that the Lions trade out of said picks or add additional ones. But with those caveats aside, here are the approximate times the Lions will be making their selections this week.

Thursday (Draft starts at 8 p.m. ET)

Round 1, Pick 7 — 9:11 p.m. ET

Friday (Draft starts at 7 p.m. ET)

Round 2, Pick 9, 41 overall — 7:47 p.m. ET
Round 3, Pick 8, 72 overall — 10:02 p.m. ET
Round 3, Pick 38, 101 overall — 11:46 p.m. ET

Saturday (Draft starts at 12 p.m. ET)

Round 4, Pick 7, 112 overall — 12:24 p.m. ET
Round 5, Pick 9, 153 overall — 2:27 p.m. ET
