Rumors are swirling as to where Julio Jones may land on his feet after he said (perhaps unknowingly) on live TV this week that he was “out of there”, there being Atlanta. It’s a mystery as to where he’ll end up but it’s fair to wonder: are the Detroit Lions a realistic option?
Question of the day: Should the Lions pursue Julio Jones?
My answer: it’s a very easy no from me.
Jones is 32 years old with a hefty contract and has been injury-prone over the past couple of seasons. Even if he were in his prime, it’s not the kind of deal a team that’s just starting a rebuild makes.
What would work a lot better is if Julio joined a former Lion in Matthew Stafford out in Los Angeles. He would be a very nice piece in that offense and would be the best target Stafford has had since the good old Calvin Johnson days.
Your turn. Should the Lions pursue Julio Jones?
