Thursday open thread: How many Detroit Lions games do you plan on attending in 2021?

It looks like the Lions will have full attendance in 2021. So how many games are you going to?

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Detroit Lions Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

While nothing is official yet, it’s looking extremely likely that the Detroit Lions will host fans again in 2021—perhaps a full stadium’s worth of fans again. Earlier in the week, Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that the state has removed nearly all of their COVID-19 restrictions, including indoor seating capacity for large gatherings. The only thing standing in the way between full crowds at Ford Field is an official announcement from the team.

In other words, get ready for the opportunity to head to games again this year. After a year off, I have to imagine fans will be eager to see the Detroit Lions in person again. And while expectations are certainly low for the 2021 product, the change in regime has still brought optimism that the team is still heading in the right direction. People will want to be a part of that, even if it means witnessing a lot of losses this year.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

How many Lions games do you plan on attending this year?

My answer: Nine, maybe more.

Though I had the opportunity to see games in person last year as part of the media, I chose not to since most of the benefits of attending a game were no longer available (locker room access, fan environment, etc.). So I will be just as eager as anyone to get back to Ford Field. I fully intend on going to all eight home games this year, and there may be one road trip for me in the future (I’m eyeing Week 7 in Los Angeles really hard right now.)

Your turn.
