Heading into his third season, T.J. Hockenson has already established himself as one of the top tight ends in the NFL. Last year, he finished fourth among all tight ends in receptions (67) and third in receiving yards (723). With the amount of turnover on the Lions’ roster, Hockenson has a decent shot of leading the team in both categories this year and becoming Jared Goff’s go-to guy.
Now is the time for Hockenson to take that next step and challenge guys like Travis Kelce, Darren Waller and George Kittle to become one of the best. He certainly has the talent to do so.
Today’s Question of the Day is...
Where does T.J. Hockenson rank among NFL tight ends?
My answer: As of now, I believe that Hockenson has already solidified himself as a top-five tight end in the league. In just two years, he has already been named to a Pro Bowl and has a great shot this year at adding more accolades to his resume barring any injuries.
This ranking is also affected by the lack of talent at the position across the league, but I don’t want to take anything away from his ability. He has earned it.
If you ask me, I think the top-three tight ends in the NFL are pretty much set in stone with Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Darren Waller leading the pack. From there, I think you can argue that Hockenson could easily fit in that fourth or fifth spot.
What do you think?
