The Detroit Lions announced that they plan to have full capacity for games this year at Ford Field in 2021. Through an official statement on Monday morning, the team said there will be no capacity limits due to COVID for Detroit’s 10-game schedule at home (eight regular season games, two preseason).
“We have long awaited the moment where we can officially declare we will have 65,000 fans at Ford Field this fall,” said Detroit Lions Team President and CEO Rod Wood. “We’ve worked diligently with the NFL, as well looked to federal, state and local guidelines to monitor what’s best for our team, staff and fans. We’re thrilled to be at this point and to welcome One Pride back into the stadium. I can’t say it enough, it hasn’t been the same without them.”
Fans looking to watch the game in the stands again will not have to provide proof of vaccination for entry, nor will they be required to wear a face mask while inside Ford Field.
The Lions will also be returning their “DTE Energy Power Hour” promotion this year. For the first hour after doors open, they feature cheaper concession sales, including $2 pop, hot dogs, and $3 packaged beers. One significant change, though, is that Ford Field will operate completely cashless.
The Lions also announced that single-game tickets will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. ET. Season tickets are available now. For more information on ticket sales head to the official Lions website.
