Earlier this month, the Detroit Lions announced 11 training camp practices that will be available for fans to see in the upcoming weeks. It turns out there will be a 12th practice for fans to check out, too.

On Monday morning, the team announced that “Family Fest” is returning this year on Saturday, August 7 at 11:30 a.m. ET. Family Fest is the Lions’ annual practice at Ford Field in which fans can attend and also participate in activities around the stadium. Unlike training camp practices at Allen Park, this event is ticketed. However, admission is still free as long as you reserve your tickets ahead of time.

“Gates open at 10 AM, with Lions practice beginning at 11:30 AM,” the official press release read. “There will be appearances from Lions Legends, Detroit Lions Cheerleaders as well as Lions mascot, Roary. Family Fest will also feature live music, free face painting and balloon artists, Roar-aoke, and a Detroit Lions Locker Room Sale with proceeds benefitting Detroit Lions Charities.”

Notably, this will be the first time Lions fans will be allowed to watch the Lions inside Ford Field since the end of the 2019 season.

It’s unclear if there will be any COVID-19 restrictions for the event, but last week the team announced that there will be no attendance restrictions for the 2021 season and that fans were not going to be required to show vaccination records or wear a mask inside the stadium.

Here’s everything you need to know if you’re interested in attending Family Fest this year.
