Detroit Lions vs. Pittsburgh Steelers first half open thread

Join us for the first half of the Lions’ second preseason game of 2021.

The Detroit Lions are in Pittsburgh for their second preseason game of the year. The Steelers appear ready to treat this game—their third of the preseason—as their dress rehearsal game. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to start, as will several other first-string Steelers.

But the Lions may not be using the same strategy. Head coach Dan Campbell told the media on Thursday that he was leaning towards sitting some “a select few veterans” not only on Saturday night but for the rest of the preseason. That being said, Campbell did say that most of the starters will still play Saturday night.

So it should be another good night of football as we learn more about the 2021 team and who could play a big part of the roster this year.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET, so while we wait until then, here are some reads that should keep you busy right until the start of the game.
