Detroit Lions vs. Indianapolis Colts first half open thread

Come join us for the first half of Detroit’s preseason finale.

NFL: Indianapolis Colts at Detroit Lions David Reginek-USA TODAY Sports

The stage is set for the preseason finale at Ford Field at 7 p.m. ET. While most Detroit Lions starters are not expected to play against the Indianapolis Colts, Friday’s game is anything but meaningless. With around a dozen roster spots on the line for Detroit, Friday represents a last chance for many players on the 80-man roster. Not only are they auditioning for a job in Detroit, but if they’re able to put together a highlight reel in the finale, they could possibly land a job elsewhere if they find themselves on waivers this weekend.

It won’t make for the most visually pleasing football, but some magical things can happen on the football field when the players have extra motivation. And if you’re the kind of fan that obsesses over the roster from Player 1 to Player 80, Friday’s showcase is can’t-miss.

So while we get ready for kickoff, make sure to check out all of our Lions-Colts preview content:

Let’s go Lions, and let’s hope for a healthy and safe game!
