The Detroit Lions have their initial roster for the 2021 roster set. After moving on from several players from the previous regime, and even ones hand-selected by this new era of Lions football, Detroit has what appears to be their core for the upcoming season, which is less than two weeks away.
While this is the initial 53-man roster, it’s always important to point out that it almost certainly will not be the team’s final 53-man roster. There’s a good probability that players like quarterback Tim Boyle and defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand will go on the injured reserve list, opening up two more roster spots. Additionally, the Lions are likely to add a player or two from the waiver wire, forcing them to create another roster spot or two.
But for now, here’s what the Lions’ 53-man roster looks like at the 4 p.m. ET deadline.
